Arum Place Guest House and B&B offers accommodation in beautifully restored spacious rooms with wooden floors and steel pressed ceilings, typical of bygone eras of Johannesburg.
This old house, which was originally built in 1935, is situated in a quiet area on the outskirts of cosmopolitan Melville. Guests are away from the hustle and bustle of Melville, but are still close enough to explore the abundance of small shops, cafes, curio shops, art galleries and trendy restaurants in the neighbourhood - a short drive of just over 1km.
Four rooms are situated inside the main house and two self catering units are available for longer stays.
Each room has a private balcony/patio or access to the main patio. Four of the spacious rooms has king-size beds(can be converted into twin beds). All the rooms has been luxuriously equipped with en-suite bathrooms (with bath and separate shower) built-in cupboards, a tea/coffee tray(hot chocolate included in winter), bar fridge, complimentary soft drinks, fans, heaters, percale cotton bed linen of the finest quality, hair dryer, complimentary toiletries,clock radio and 16 channel satellite television.
You are welcome to have a cuppa or simply relax with a book from our small library. A sparkling blue pool set in a lovely garden is inviting you to drench up the warm African sun. The entire house is at all times yours to enjoy. At last you have arrived at your home away from home.
Accommodation includes a full Farmhouse breakfast, which is served in the dining room or on the patio should weather permit. Breakfast can be served in the new suite, Golden Slumber, should you decide to lie in and have breakfast in you PJ's, or simply prefer privacy.
Enjoy some one of the other breakfast options: Eggs Benedict with Parma ham and spinach served on rye bread, Savoury pancakes with mince, Omlettes, Scrambled eggs on rye bread with Salmon and cream cheese, flapjacks,french toast,waffles with honey, toasted croissants with bacon and Parmesan cheese,etc.
Dinners and Sunday lunch/ barbeque available on request.
The guest house is a non-smoking establishment. Smoking is permitted outside on the patio. We offer a 24-hour laundry service and secure parking. Wi-Fi access to the internet is available.
