Description:
Set on the picturesque farm Clifton just outside Clarens, the police station is a 19th century building still in its original form.
A self catering two bedroom cottage that sleeps four, with a fully equipped kitchen and an indoor fireplace (wood is provided free of charge).
Linen and towels are provided.
There is also an outside braai. Please note that the guest house is set on a working farm.
Originally set up as a base for early police officials to control the cannibal tribe that lived in the area at the time. The building is still standing with its original material and has all its original wood panelled floors, walls and ceiling, Sash windows, doors and a cast iron bath.
Situated four kilometres outside of Clarens makes the cottage ideally close to the town and a short drive on a gravel road makes sedan access possible.
Activities on the property include, fly fishing on 9 kilometres of the little Caledon river (in season November to May), day walks and bird watching. Activities in the area are numerous including mountain biking, horse rides, white water rafting, quad biking, bushman painting viewing and much more. There are various famous and historical sites in the area as well as the Clarens Golf course within
3 kilometres and the Golden Gate national park within twenty five kilometres.
