Description:
Alpha Excelsior Guest Farm is situated on the edge of the Cederberg Wilderness in a secluded, undeveloped area of breathtaking natural beauty near Clanwilliam in the Western Cape, South Africa.
The region is famous for the annual display of wild flowers, the biggest concentration of San Rock Art paintings in Southern Africa and its ruggedley beautiful landscapes and unique rock formations created by the erosion of sandstone.
Accommodation consists of two delightful self-catering cottages or you may choose to stay in the Cape Dutch-style main house on a bed and breakfast basis. All guests have access to the sparkling swimming pool, several hiking trails and a visit to the farm's country winery.
Visit the Cederberg sights and marvels, using Alpha Excelsior as your base. Wolfberg Arch, the Maltese Cross and numerous San Rock Art sites are within easy driving distance.
Experience the old-world charm of a Cape Dutch house with its high timber ceilings and cool interior.
Stay in a comfortable double room with en-suite bathroom at the front of the house, with direct access to a private lounge and vine-covered front veranda. A sleeper couch in the main bedroom and another in the lounge, offer informal sleeping arrangements for four more guests. (six in total).
Breakfast is served on the back patio, overlooking the garden and sparkling swimming pool.
Weavers Cottage is an enchanting romantic getaway in a restored Cape cottage with a thatched roof.
Situated away from the farm buildings, it offers privacy and uninterrupted views of the beautiful surroundings.
The cottage has a double bedroom with a four poster bed, bathroom and open-plan living area and kitchenette, with a double sleeper couch. (sleeps four in total).
An indoor fireplace makes for cosy evenings or indoor barbeques, or you may choose to make use of the outside braai facilities.
The cottage is fully equipped, bedding and towels are provided and meals and "braai packs" are available on request.
Sociable pets allowed by prior arrangement.
Lavender Cottage is a sweet hideaway with a charming artistic character. It offers a double bedroom, bathroom and open-plan living area and kitchen, with a double sleeper couch. (sleeps four in total).
A wood-burning stove makes it comfortable in winter and the promixity to the communal swimming pool is a bonus on hot summer days.
Fully equipped, bedding and towels provided and meals and "braai packs" available on request.
