Description:
Cheviot Place is a an old Victorian style house over 100 years old and lovingly restored to its current beauty. We are situated on the slopes of Signal Hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Robben Island and the V&A Waterfront. We are about a 10-15 min walk to the Waterfront and stunning beaches, and about a 15-20 min walk into town.
There are six rooms to choose from, one of them being a self-catering option. the ‘Sunrise’ room has twin beds (that may be pushed together), a view overlooking the sea, with an en-suite shower.
The second is the ‘Daybreak’ room, which has a queen size bed, walk- in closet and en-suite shower.
The third option is the ‘Garden’ room, which has a bath and overhead shower, queen bed and its own private stone garden with table.
All the rooms are en-suite and fully serviced with fresh towels and linen. They all have tea and coffee trays, wooden floors, TV, telephone, safes, wireless internet access, heaters or fans and hairdryers. All rooms come with a cooked or health breakfast.
There are another 2 rooms of top class quality. The first room is the 'Sea Loft’ room which is on the third floor of the house overlooking Robben Island. With your own balcony, you can enjoy the morning bustle of the Ocean and the fresh sea air. This room offers fantastic views with loft-like space, with the en-suite bathroom being modern and bright with a two person shower, large vanity and separate toilet. It holds twin beds with funky headboards, which can be made comfortably into a king with soft linen all resting on an original wooden floor.
The next room is the ‘Mountain Loft’ room, also boasting top end quality. This 40 sq. meter room is also situated on the third floor, offering a queen bed to compliment this open plan set up, with lightly washed wooden floors that flow into the large bathroom with under floor heating.
The freestanding bathtub sits in the centre of the room and makes for a great way to soak away a busy day, with separate shower as well.
The room is bright and spacious with views looking back over Signal Hill, for a truly a relaxed and private experience.
The last choice is the self-catering apartment or ‘Wine Cellar’, which is situated downstairs from the house and offers that little bit more privacy.
It has its own entrance surrounded by a lavender garden, open plan and built under the house offering something truly unique. You walk into your own kitchen area with fridge, microwave, stove top, coffee machine and cutlery and plates.
The kitchen has three windows and two glass doors with wooden shutters for plenty of natural light.
The bathroom has an old-fashioned bathtub and copper showerhead, whereas the bedroom is very romantic in earthy stonewalls, white linen and loads of candles. TV and DVD included, just ask for our selection.
The bedroom itself has no windows but is well-ventilated.
Breakfast is provided OR we can stock your fridge with lots of nice goodies so you can do your own thing.
Once you have checked in you will get a welcome booklet with information on the Cape and its surroundings, your own keys so that you may come and go as you please, as well a complimentary soft drink, beer, coffee, etc.
Most importantly you will get personal advice on what to do to suit your lifestyle and/or information simply just to make you feel at home. That is essentially what we are about when making you feel at home in ours.
We can also arrange car hire, tours and activities you may enjoy as well as give advice on where to go and what to see both in Cape Town as well as South Africa. We offer a personal and hands-on service that we feel will best suit your needs; from booking a restaurant to finding that quiet little picnic place or a game farm up the coast.
Enjoy a variety of generous and healthy breakfasts on the sunny terrace or in the bright eating area. This breakfast corner also transforms into a cosy corner for leisurely reading or relaxing in front of a roaring fire with a glass of red wine during winter.
