Description:
Sugarbush Hill lies on the northern slopes of a peaceful valley in the Magaliesberg Mountain Range. We are on the Rustenburg side of the range, about 50 km from Hartebeespoort Dam and 30 km from Rustenburg. It takes just over an hour to get to us from Fourways and an hour and a quarter from the eastern suburbs of Pretoria.
The accommodation comprises of 5 stone cottages, situated in a peaceful valley in the Magaliesberg Mountain range.
The units sleep from 2 - 9 people. All are fully equipped for a comfortable self-catering stay and are serviced daily. Towels, soap & shampoo supplied, as well as ground coffee for a Bodum percolator, Tea & Rooibos.
All units have their own braais and deep covered patio/stoeps with stunning mountain views.
Marula:
A four-sleeper, has a separate bedroom with a double bed and two single beds in the open-plan lounge/kitchen area. The single beds double as divans during the day. There is an unusual fireplace, which goes through the wall, so that the bedroom and the lounge area share the fire. The previous owner built bottles into the back wall of the unit. These give an interesting effect when the sun shines on the wall. The bathroom has a shower, hand basin and a toilet. Marula is a fairly spacious unit, and is perfect for a family of four.
Wild Fig:
It can comfortably sleep either 4 adults and 4 children or alternatively 6 adults. It has 3 bedrooms, two with double beds - one of which has an en-suite bathroom - and one with 4 single beds. The other two bedrooms share a bathroom, which has a bath and a shower, with a toilet and a basin. Wild Fig has a big open-plan lounge/pub area. It has a fireplace, which is great for those chilly winter evenings. In front of the lounge is a massive verandah with a stunning view of the Magaliesberg Mountain range. There is also a dining room as well as a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has a large fridge/freezer, a gas stove, microwave, toaster, kettle and all the crockery/cutlery needed for the preparation and consumption of meals. Leading out from the kitchen area in the back of the unit the private braai area is in the shade of a huge wild fig tree (Ficus burkei). Wild Fig is perfect for a family or group of friends to get together. It is big enough to be used as the meeting point, if there is a large group of people, with some of them staying in other units.
Bushwillow Cottage:
If we had to make one of our units a "honeymoon suite" then this would be it. It is an open-plan design and can accommodate 3 people in one double and one single bed, but is most often used by couples. Bushwillow has a 4-plate gas cooking hob, a microwave oven, fridge freezer and all the utensils & crockery you would need. It also has a fireplace and a T.V. The bathroom has a shower, hand basin and a toilet. Bushwillow is perfect for a romantic getaway for a couple, or for a couple with a small(ish) child.
Aloe & Karee:
These make up a duplex unit, although each cottage is completely self-sufficient. They sleep two people each, in two single beds. Both Aloe and Karee have their own braais. Aloe and Karee are perfect for 2 couples who want to go away together, but who want a bit of privacy too. It is also great for a family of four, where the children are old enough to be in their own unit.
Go hiking or horse-riding in the area, in some of the best scenery that the Magaliesberg has to offer. Prolific bird life and sparkling swimming pool.
Price Info:
Over weekends (Fri, Sat, Sunday), long weekends and peak periods:
R220.oo per person/day sharing for all units except for Karee, which costs R200/
pp/pd.
The weekend single rate is R300.00 pp/pd.
During the week outside of peak periods we have a flat rate of R200/person/night
.
Children between the ages 4 – 12 pay half price.
Children under 4 years FREE (Cots available on request)
Note: Minimum of 2 night stay over weekends.
