Description:
The De Kelders Guesthouse is situated on the magnificent Walkerbay coastline, offering the best land based whale watching in the world. During whale season, the whales come to Walkerbay to mate, calf and nurse their young and come within meters of our shore. Breaching whales often interrupt breakfast and they can be heard grunting from your bedroom day and night.
We border a protected greenstrip with natural fynbos, where creatures aplenty live, and often visit to our guest's delight. These include mongoose, porcupine, dassies and numerous bird species.
We have one sea-facing suite with kitchenette, two sea facing, en-suite double rooms and one twin, ensuite overlooking the fynbos. A lounge is available for guests where they can also use snack making facilities and make tea or coffee.
A colony of seals can be seen frolicking in the kelp and large schools of dolphins hunt sardines in this unspoilt marine reserve.
Breakfast is served on the balcony where supurb views can be enjoyed.
Great White Shark outings can be arranged. Nearby restaurants. Your hosts are Gerhard and Alet.
