Die Gat is located in the valley of Middleplass, in the village of De Rust. 7km from breathtaking views at Meiringspoort Pass.
Characteristics of the historic monument old homestead, are such as the paint of German origin on the interior walls of the "voorkamer" (lounge), the original architectural form of the house and the picturesque environment have ensured that many a South African film has been shot here.
The accomodation comprises of three bedrooms and a cottage. The rooms are decorated and furnished in the Victorian era. Bathrooms have slipper baths.
Traditional South African fare is served in the dining room or in the garden. Swimming pool. Your hosts Anton and Susan can arrange and advise additional activities and local places to visit including farm visits. (children welcome).
