Description:
Peebles Country Retreat is an exclusive retreat, set in the heart of the magnificent trout fishing village of Dullstroom. A resident therapist provides massages, beauty treatments and an exclusive wellness center is under construction. The retreat boasts a conference center, heated swimming pool, access to some of Dullstrooms most exclusive fishing water, and a whisky bar with one of the largest collections of single malt whiskies in South Africa.
You will be personally welcomed on your arrival at the main building, which houses the friendly reception area, beautifully appointed lounge, dining room, well-stocked library and main kitchen.
In the evening, you'll find your bed linen has been turned down and adorned with delectable chocolates to promote the sweetest of dreams.
As dawns breaks or, perhaps, at sunset, step out on to your private balcony for a vista of unrivalled splendor: a spectacular view of the Dullstroom countryside. Each suite is equipped with a fireplace, telephone, satellite TV, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer and a safe. The bathrooms have under tile heating and a towel warmer for those cold winter mornings.
Take your first meal of the day in the light and airy breakfast area. Or, perhaps, you wish to indulge in a scrumptious breakfast served in the privacy of your suite from the private butler entrance. In fine weather breakfast and afternoon tea are served in the garden.
All accommodation is in large luxury suites which have their own log fires, patios and private dining facilities. The suites are decorated to the most luxurious standards with satellite TV and a fully stocked mini bar.
The spacious bathrooms boast separate bath, shower, under-floor heating and heated towel rails. Our giant bath tubs are perfect for soaking away the stresses of the city.
The elegant dining room with its beamed ceilings and open stone fireplace offers wholesome country faire. In the evening, elegant candle-lit dinners with exquisite cuisine and relaxed evenings around a crackling fire will give you memories to cherish. Dine from an exciting and creative set dinner menu complimented by a fine selection of wines.
Peebles' Conference facilities: The ideal venue for small company getaways and for executives who seek an exclusive and peaceful environment to recharge their batteries. The conference room, also ideally suited to private functions such as intimate weddings, accommodates 20 people and has full catering facilities.

A limited number of non-resident guests are welcome to join us for breakfast or dinner.
Wine Cellar
In addition to our extensive existing collection our wine cellar has seen the arrival of a number of new releases. These include private bin and Nederburg Auction wines.
Whisky and Champagne Bar
In keeping with our Scottish heritage, no visit to Peebles is complete without a visit to our well stocked whisky bar. We pride ourselves in our selection of over 50 fine single malts and other rare whisky. Those with more continental tastes may treat themselves to a selection from our extensive collection of imported champagnes.
For those happy fun-filled days, choose from a variety of activities: a bracing walk to the charming village of Dullstroom; we can also arrange picnics, trout fishing, bird watching, horse riding, clay-pigeon shooting, archery and mountain biking excursions. All you need do is ask!
Fly-fishing:
Visitors to Peebles have exclusive use of one of the most varied and challenging trout fishing facilities in the Dullstroom area. This has 14 dams and 3 km of river well stocked with rainbow trout. Fish in excess of 2 kg are caught regularly. The largest catch was 3.2 kg on Wally?s Water. ?The Submarine? which is in excess of 4 kg has been seen regularly but remains uncaught.
The gin clear water of the spruit is producing stunning results on dry-flies. Peebles fishing waters are stocked weekly with a range of fish of varying sizes. Fishing in this portion of the river will remain at a premium as rods are limited. Hotel guests receive a discounted fishing rate as well as preferential booking.
