White Mountain Lodge nestles in a beautiful tranquil valley in the foothills of the Giant's Castle Nature reserve in the Central Drakensberg region of KwaZulu Natal, White Mountain is not only serious in providing a relaxing stress free holiday environment, but also a productive and comfortable conference and business environment.

We cater for holidays, weekend getaways, overnight stays, school development courses, conferences, and team building exercises all in the beauty and tranquility of one of South Africa's most beautiful regions.

Abseiling, cross- valley fuffi slide, river rafting, hiking, fishing, fantastic dining, historical sight- seeing or plain old relaxing are all provided for at White Mountain Lodge, our experienced instructors and helpful staff strive to make your holiday experience not only enjoyable but memorable too.

In terms of accommodation White Mountain Lodge offers a variety of options from 2 to 6 berth chalets in both self- catering and full board options. The chalets have fully functional kitchenettes and are all equipped with fridges, stoves and washing areas. Bathrooms are all equipped with hot water and bath/ shower combinations are present in all chalets.

The bedroom has a double bed. The second bedroom has two single beds.
In some chalets the second bedroom is in a loft.

The main bedroom has a double bed, The secon bedroom has two single beds. The third bedroom which is in a loft also has two wingl beds.

All the chalets are serviced daily by our friendly, helpful staff who will also cater for baby-sitting and other tasks as required.

Outdoor furniture is provided in the chalets for those wanting a more outdoor experience with barbecue facilities outside most chalets.

Our restaurant (The Old Mill Diner) is open daily for breakfast lunch and supper offering full course meals, deserts and coffee, hot chocolate and tea. We cater for any special meal requirements and have often been the scene of most enjoyable themed evenings and buffets. A regular feature during the wonderful summer evenings is the outside barbecue which inevitably ends up being a general social event at the end of each week.

We also have a fully licensed bar (Tom's Tavern) which stocks a wide variety of local and imported drinks and wines. Tom's Tavern often becomes the venue of much excitement when a major sporting event is televised and its warm relaxed environment lends itself to fun filled evenings.

Outdoors are our specialty, and with easy to challenging hikes around the resort this is an outdoor person's dream. With White Mountain close by and abseiling points on the mountain, weekend abseiling off a 45m rock face is one of the weekend outdoor activities. Our 100m fuffi slide is another popular attraction for visitors.

At the resort we offer volleyball, soccer, croquet, swimming, canoeing and fishing. Weather and season permitting, river rafting is also offered down the Bushman's River from the Giant's Castle Nature Reserve gate.

The abundant birdlife and wild animals around the area make for exciting exploratory excursions. For those into a little less strenuous activities, we offer two well stocked dams for bass fishing and trout fishing is only a short drive away.

What could be more enjoyable than undertaking a conference or function amidst the beauty of the KwaZulu Natal Drakensberg, and in spare time enjoy activities including fishing, hiking and birdwatching.

White Mountain Lodge provides a professional but comfortable environment for any business conference or function, well accustomed to providing for the professional requirements of any business.

With two conference rooms, a board room and break away rooms our restaurant and bar facilities can cater for any dietary requirements, theme meals, specialized buffets and barbecues. While we also offer all added services including E- Mail and Internet access, faxing, photocopying, typing, transport and the organization of entertainment and speakers.

1. Abseiling: ± 1½-hour walk to the top of White Mountain to do the 45m abseil. Fairly strenuous walk but a very rewarding activity. Full morning.
2. Fuffi-Slide: 15-minute easy walk to do this activity, which is a 100m slide across a gorge. Fun and easy. ± 1½ hour.
3. Initiative Course: Situated on the property, this activity has numerous obstacles to overcome and requires initiative and teamwork. ± 2 hours.
4. Raft / Bridge Building: Done on the property, these activities require good teamwork and assist in developing same. ± 1 ½ hour.
5. Group Dynamics: A series of challenges in which teamwork and lateral thinking are vital. Done on the property and designed to get people to integrate. 1-2 hours.
6. Nightline: An activity done at nighttime to promote teamwork, leadership and trust. 1 hour.
7. Orienteering: Strong team skills are required to navigate from point to point using a compass and set co-ordinates. 1-2 hours.
8. Emergency Rescue: A simulated rescue, which requires a high level of teamwork and planning. Done at night so as to be more demanding. 1 hour.
9. Icebreakers: This is usually the start of the programme and is the forming phase of the group. This activity is full of energy and the facilitator can easily make this a fun learning experience by the presentation of the games.
10. Development Programme: Problem solving activities, in these activities the group and individuals finds themselves in a difficult situation and have to function as a group close to each other. Communication is vital to reach their aim.
11. River Rafting: An exciting high-risk activity. +/- 10km down the Bushmans River with challenging rapids, guided by qualified rafting instructors.
Every activity can be presented on the level of development according to the group or individual needs. This can develop them to their full potential and take the group to the higher level of development, group cohesion, uniqueness, behaviour and conflict.
