Description:
Braeside is a Victorian house built in 1903 for one of the harbour masters of Cape Town. This Heritage Home is situated in the heart of Green Point village and comprises of four large bedrooms with en-suite/private bathrooms.
The original Oregon pine floors, high ceilings and fireplaces are some of the many features of this home. Large sash windows ensure that all rooms are light and airy. The secluded courtyard, which leads off the lounge/dining-room, gives guests a quiet place to read, write letters or enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings. The enclosed front verandah is a winter suntrap with sea views.
Guests are invited to relax in the comfort of the lounge, offering individual attention and good old fashioned hospitality or simply meet other guests after a busy day sightseeing and touring the magnificent wonders Cape Town has to offer.
The secluded patio is an ideal place to take in the glorious Cape sun, replete with Koi pond and dazzling bougainvillea.
Each of the four bedrooms is decorated in its own unique style including much of Michael?s artwork ? the Coral Room, the Tidal Room, the Garden Room and the Afrika Room (honeymoon suite).
The Coral and Tidal Room:
Both with own private bath/toilet are furnished with twin, three-quarter beds.
The Garden Room:
Has a double bed with en-suite shower and toilet and opens out onto a small private patio garden.
The Afrika Room:
Is elegantly furnished and decorated with local artwork and features the original fireplace. The en-suite bathroom has a large oval corner bath and fireplace.
All rooms are furnished with wardrobes, TVs, butler trays with tea/filter coffee- making facilities, fans and heaters, hairdryers and radio alarm clocks. White100% cotton percale linens, white towels and robes, elegant soaps and shampoos are provided. Rooms are fully serviced daily with laundry offered on request
A breakfast buffet is served in the dining area between 7.30 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. An earlier breakfast can be provided by arrangement.
Fax and Computer facilities are available for guests should they wish to catch up on correspondence.
Fully furnished one bedroom cottage situated diagonally opposite the Guest House with secure parking.
The cottage is unique in that it offers all the comforts and luxuries a home can offer: Twin beds, Bath with overhead shower
Automatic washing machine, microwave and dishwasher, television /video machine and Music center.
The open plan lounge dining room and kitchen give it a bright and airy feel, with French doors that open onto an under cover patio / carport and quaint garden.
