The Manor itself boasts 6 stunning rooms to facilitate guests, an intimate restaurant, and a wide shady verandah that is absolute heaven. Even the panoramic scenes of the berg and farm fields cannot detract from the cream teas! Rates at R350 for adults and R175 for children (2007).
Not to be missed is "Greenfields Grill" a rustic restaurant serving wholesome locally sourced ingredients. There is a 3 course set menu to choose from in the evenings next to a warm log fire for the cooler evenings and a wooden deck for the summer nights of stars, this had been the place of many a party.
The 'cherry on the top' lies in the catering from breakfasts in the dinning-room, to verandah teas, light lunches and individually selected menus for 80 - 180 wedding guests in the stables, an experianced chef will see to every dainty dish to hearty, wholesome fare.
If a country wedding is your wish, Greenfields is at your command. Set in such elegant, classic surrounds your special day will have an ambience like none other. As a horse-drawn carriage carries you both away, leaving the cheers and the rose petals behind, you'll know you made the right choice.
The five double en-suite bedrooms are stylishly and tastefully decorated: florals, checks and stripes combine with colonial furniture in a fusion of old world charm.
The garden cottage contains a king sized bed and a lounge and sitting area where honeymooners can have an intimate dinner. Decorated in earthy shades, this spacious cottage is completed by the Victorian ball and claw bath in the bathroom.
Guests can dine in style in the main house or drift across to the character-filled Grill, housed in a building which dates back to 1893.
There's plenty do do: from trout and bass fishing to tennis and from clay pigeon shooting to bird watching. The 2000 hectares provide pleasant walking terrain, be it through the woods or the grasslands where Oribi and reedbuck bound.
Or if you just want to relax, you can lie in the sun with a book or just watch the cattle graze.
Tours to the nearby battlefields along with a registered guide can also be arranged. However, it's the former occupants who provide the colourful ghosts of history and the tales which feed folklore.
