Close to the anglo Zulu battlefield site of Rorke`s Drift.
Guests at Nxala Ranch are accommodated in a spacious thatch-roofed lodge set in tranquil park-like gardens where the only disturbances are the call of the Hadida and the Zebras' coughing.
The accommodation comprises of three spacious en-suite bedrooms allow accommodation for six persons. The lodge is fully furnished.
The living room is equipped with satellite TV and music system. The main feature though, is the spacious "stoep" (veranda) with braai (barbeque) area where meals can be taken in beautiful surroundings, or whilst watching weaver birds at work. Also try spotting the resident "likkewaan" (leguan) in the dam adjoining the lodge.
Nxala Ranch sleeps six people and is fully equipped. All rates include linen (also towels), cleaning services and laundry service. A cash bar is available on the premises.
Bass abound in the lodge's three stocked dams. Fishing with own, or supplied equipment can be particularly rewarding. (Fishing is only allowed with artificial lures on a catch-and-release basis).
The waterfall, ancient San rock art, herds of antelope and scenic beauty makes hiking particularly rewarding.
Sunset game viewing is an exciting part of your stay at Nxala Ranch. Game drives can be done in your own 4x4 vehicle or, on request, guided drives with our 2 gameviewing vehicles (Landrover Defender and a Unimog for the more adventurous). Nxala Ranch is situated in a 1600 hectare reserve, where the following game can be seen: Kudu, Impala, Hartebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Black Wildebeest, Springbok, Black Springbok, Reebok, Mountain Reedbuck, Gemsbok, Bushbuck, Duiker, Blesbuck, Ostrich and Giraffe.
