Eagles' Rock, our beautiful piece of God's creation set in the magnificent Southern Drakensberg Mountains ( part of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site ), near Underberg and Himeville. Only 7,7km out of Underberg on the Drakensberg Gardens Road.
Eagles' Rock is spectacularly positioned on a mountain plateau overlooking the Umzimkulu river and farmlands with the Giants Cup flanked by the mighty Hodgeson's peaks in the background. Being owner run ensures a very warm welcome, wonderful hospitality and an enjoyable holiday.
Enjoy the tranquility of our private 25 acres, with pure spring water and lovely views. Take the Duiker or Kingfisher trail, or spend a day hiking in the berg. Bird watch and add to the checklist of over 100 bird species or cast a fly into our well stocked trout dams (Gavin, a practicing
veterinarian and keen trout fisherman will gladly assist you in your quest for that elusive "whopper' ) Swim in the river , the dams or filtered splash pool. Canoe, paddle ski or row. Tube the river, ride horses, visit San rock art sites, take a 4X4 trip up Sani Pass or simply relax!.
It is an owner run retreat consisting of 4 fully equipped self catering cottages with the option of B/B.
Honeymoon in Kestrel or Falcon. Bring the whole family and friends to
Lammergeier log cabin or Sparrowhawk log and block cottage. All cottages are comfortably apportioned, fully equipped, and serviced. Enjoy winter evenings before a cosy log fire.
We are situated on a Mountain Plateau overlooking the Drakensberg Mountains and the Umzimkulu River running through rural farmlands. We offer peace, quiet and tranquility in a beautiful country setting.
Should you desire loud music, active pubs, madding crowds or constant entertainment we suggest you look elsewhere.
