Nestled at the foothills of the indigenous Black Forest, and in the shade of a beautiful Tipuana tree you will find the German-style Black Forest Mountain Lodge.
Imagine yourself on a cold, cozy evening enjoying the crackling warmth of our lounge fireplace, or alternatively during the winter months, snuggling up in your own room with one of our famous ?heisse schokolades? (hot chocolate drinks).
The rest is up to your imagination!
In the hot summer months, you can enjoy our peaceful and tranquil gardens. Sit and enjoy a drink under one of our beautiful, shady trees or alternatively take a walk in our enchanting chestnut orchard.
The Lodge has five spacious bedrooms, all with a private bathroom. Cuddle up in warm and snuggly duvets and imagine you are in the Alps. Experience true Alpine magic.
Meals are served in our German-style ?Koasamandl? restaurant. Evening meals consist of a 3-course menu and your morning starts with a delicious and hearty German-style continental breakfast.
Guests are welcome to help themselves to tea & coffee all day at no charge. Picnic baskets packed on request for lunch.
The Lodge offers a daily conference venue that will accommodate 15 delegates.
We are in the process of establishing Black Forest Mountain Lodge as a fishing destination for Yellow fish and Trout.
Trout have been stocked in Zell am Zee dam by the Haenertsburg Trout Association, a fairly large dam some 10 minutes walk from the lodge.
A project is underway with the University of the North, headed by Dr Wynand Vlok, to re-introduce the indigenous Yellowfish to the area. Black Forest Mountain Lodge has been registered as a Yellow Fish conservancy.
Trout Fishing in Zell am Zee dam is available at a cost of R50 per day, which includes the first fish, thereafter R40 per kg.
Yellowfishing in Yellow Fish dam is also included in the R50 per day rod fee but using barb less hooks only and on a strict catch and release basis only.
Two trout rods are available for hire at the lodge at R35 per day.

Single sup R80.00.
Weekends and P/Holidays, R190.00 pp sharing, Single sup R90.00. Rates include a
continental German-style breakfast
