Description: Hamilton Parks Country Lodge is a comfortable 14-room country hotel, set in a magnificent 250 ha estate, consisting of pristine indigenous bush near Hazyview in the Mpumalanga Lowveld.
This gracious thatched homestead is set in magnificient gardens and a perfect place to relax.
The 14 spacious rooms are set among magnificient gardens over looking an escarpment of indigenous bushland. The rooms are comfortable furnished to reflect your ambient surroundings.
The rooms are each furnished with single, double, queen or king size beds as well as a pleasant sitting area to soak up the late sun.
The large ensuites are each equipped with a full size bathtub and heated flooring for your ensured comfort.

Quad Adventure Trails (available at Hamilton Park as well)
Scenic trails through the Sabie River Valley of varying difficulty to suit your ability. The quad bikes are easy to drive, suitable for novices and providing equal enjoyment for experienced riders.

White Water Tubing

A spectacular waterfall marks the start of our white water rafting adventure on the Upper Sabie River, an area accessible to few. Bob down the river on a 2 man inflatable croc raft, past indigenous forests and the scenic splendour of the valley.

Gecko River Adventure

Hot Air Ballooning
A ride on the wind! Beginning at sunrise the balloon floats over small hills and hidden valleys, lush indigenous bush along the banks of the Sabie River. In the distance to the west are the mountains of the escarpment, and to the east the landscape gradually flattens out towards the horizon of the rising sun. This is a romantic, champagne experience, a gentle adventure like no other!

Bridge Swing

You never know you might even get to spot the endangered King Cheetah and Wild Dog.

A new and thrilling experience - with a difference. Explore the Kapama Private Game Reserve on the back of an elephant. Exploring the bush on elephantback gives you the advantage of spotting more game than you would in a vehicle or on a horse, as you are a lot higher, and as with a horse safari, the animals and birds see you as no threat.

Explore the natural beauty of the Lowveld, escarpment and the spectacular Mpumalanga scenery. On this tour you can admire the Blyde River Canyon and its beautiful Rock formations, then on to the boundless vista from God?s Window. Also Wonderview, the Tree Rondavels and the Bourke?s Luck Potholes. A stop will be made at Pilgrim?s Rest, a lovingly preserved village and National Monument, which sprang up in the time of the Gold Rush. The region?s most scenic waterfalls complete the tour.

Endangered Wildlife Tour
Moholoholo is the biggest wildlife rehabilitation centre in South Africa, where you can go behind the scenes for a fascinating insight into the dedication and skill of animal conservationists. Hear experts explain the various rehabilitation techniques used on birds and animals and witness them demonstrating these techniques. Have lunch at Kapama Private Game Reserve and return to play with the Lion cubs and Leopards or to handle the Eagles and Vultures.

Shangana Evening Festival
Spend an enlightening evening with the original inhabitants of the Sabie River Valley, the Shangaan. The tour includes a look at the village, situated high on a hillside overlooking the valley ? where the villagers live as their ancestors did. Visit the village?s ?Sangoma? (Witch Doctor) and allow her to share their mythical secrets. However the highlight of the evening is the performance of the traditional songs and dances during the Royal Feast.

The Kruger National Park is a 20-minute drive from the lodge, with its unspoilt landscapes, spectacular tranquillity, and massive terrains. It is larger than Wales or Israel, and measures 20 000 sq kilometres (12 500 sq miles) and contains a wide variety of mammals and birds, including the famous Big Five ? lion, leopard, buffalo, white rhinoceros and elephant ? the five most dangerous species for the Big Game hunters of yesteryear.
Nearby is the Blyde River Canyon ? the world?s third largest, with its waterfalls and dramatic view.
The Hoedspruit Cheetah Breeding Centre offers close-up viewing of cheetah, wild dog and a number of other predators and the Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation gives a fascinating insight onto birds of prey and animals which have encountered difficulties, arising from modern-day Africa?s farming methods.
