Description:
Situated on a farm outside Swellendam, Sandkraal Cottage offers cosy accommodation on the banks of the beautiful Breede River.
The cottage sleeps 6 and is fully equipped for self-catering, including a stove, microwave and fridge. Bedding, towels and firewood are provided.
The cottage sports a huge indoor fire-place making for cosy winter getaways and for the adventurous cook, a real working wood oven for baking golden home-made loaves!
The thatched veranda is ideal for relaxing, sundowners or outdoor meals.
Activities include:
- limitless walking in unspoilt Renosterveld;
- birdwatching - a checklist is available with 101 bird species
spotted, including the magnifisent Fish Eagle and our national
bird, the Blue Crane;
- cycling - on the farm tracks and (for the more energetic) - the
gravel roads to either Malgas, Witsand or Buffeljags;
- swimming - with the water's edge on your doorstep, swimming and
sunbathing are obvious options;
Situated within easy reach of tourist attractions like historic Swellendam, scenic Barrydale, the unique Malgas pontoon, famous Witsand and the well-known Bontebokpark.
