Description: Hippo Hideaway is situated on the banks of the St. Lucia Estuary our idyllic resort offers easy access to the greater St. Lucia Wetland park, The Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve and the unspoilt beaches of the Elephant Coast.
The superbly appointed resort is styled in a manner which captures the true essence of the greater St. Lucia wetlands.
The lodge comprises 21 luxury air conditioned chalets each with its own fully self contained kitchen.
There are 7 two sleeper chalets, 11 four sleeper chalets, 2 three sleeper chalets and 1 honeymoon suite. Breakfasts are an optional extra and can be specified when making your reservation.
Each chalet has its own TV that gives access to 10 DSTV channels. There is also a communal barbeque area available for guests to use.
Toiletries, such as soap, shampoo and body lotion are supplied and are replenished when necessary.
All rooms are fully serviced by the Hippo Hideaway staff and all linen, except beach towels, are supplied.
The central thatched Boma which faces out over the swimming pool is the ideal area to either relax in the hammocks or sit in the shade to adjust to the relaxing pace of Zululand. As the resort leads onto the estuary a wide range of both animals and birds can be seen on the front lawns.
Fishing from the bank or Jetty is about 50 metres from the front of the resort.
