Wilderness is a sleepy seaside uncomercialized town on the Garden Route of the southern Cape in South Africa. It is situated a short distance from the town of George, on the N2 coastal route. It is known for its long white sand beach and lagoons. The popular Outeniqua Choo Tjoe steam train runs through the town on it way from George to Knysna.
