Lanseria is a place northwest of the city of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is the location of the Lanseria Airport, which is one of the four airports in this city, and the busiest in Africa in terms of aircraft movement per day.
Built in 1974, Lanseria Airport is used mainly for regional, corporate and diplomatic aircraft but can handle aircraft up to the Boeing 757-300 and Airbus A319. Although the passenger throughput is not as high as OR Tambo International Airport, Lanseria handles more aircraft movements (take-offs and landings) per year than any other airport in Africa.
